Part of my daily internet activities is moderating a local lyrics site. This post is inspired by the recent Toni Gonzaga phenomenon that has taken over most of the bandwidth of the site (lyrics) - from tons of comments, searches and submissions - all for Toni’s new song.

Catch Me I’m Falling is a song from Toni Gonzaga’s latest album entitled Falling In Love. To add to the song’s popularity, ABS-CBN used it as a soundtrack for the Koreanovela “Which Star Are You From?”

I’m probably the only one still unfamiliar with the song so I searched for a copy to download. So, here I am listening to the track figuring out what the masses are going crazy over. The song is good, Toni is a great singer - exactly what I expected.

On Toni

She’s different. She’s one of a kind. A great singer (wait, that was already established). Most of the people I know who are into Toni are charmed by her great sense of humor. Yes, in fact that’s probably what she’s known for best - as a comedian. It’s because she treats comedy with little regard if she looks like a fool or loses poise (todo bigay), unlike most women comedians. Plus of course she looks good and is of course sexy. I may not be the her biggest fan but I’ve know ever since that she has something, full of talent, unique and is here to stay.

Let’s just make this into a compilation since the girls from the movie Harry Potter are just that - girls. And, of course, I don’t think anyone would add that as another reason to see the movie. Anyway, for our younger readers, here’s a treat.

Probably the one with the most potential also happens to be one of the leads - Emma Watson. So let’s save the best for last.

Cho Chang played by Katie Leung

Katie is Harry Potter’s love interest. How about that kissing scene? After watching Order of the Phoenix, me and a couple of my friends couldn’t help but talk about the poor casting choice for Cho. After all, she is the star’s sweetheart. She kind of looks like a Filipina, but she’s not. I guess all I’m saying is they could’ve considered a little more eye candy to play Cho’s part. I understand though how she’d be a hit to Europeans and Americans. Just click here for Cho pictures.

Ginny Weasley played by Bonnie Wright

Ginny is Ron Weasley’s younger sister. Not to make this post more underage as it is (she is only 16), but the reason I took notice of Ginny was because after Hermione, there was no longer anyone worth looking at. And also, in the Order of the Phoenix, I couldn’t help but notice how little she spoke. Here’s a Bonnie Wright gallery worth looking at.

Luna Lovegood played by Evanna Lynch

There goes that weird character Luna Lovegood we’ve all been waiting for (first appearance). She looks alright, especially for her part (good casting). Plus, she did a good job at it as well. Here’s another gallery to check out.

Hermione Granger played by Emma Watson

The inspiration of this post, Emma Watson, is now only 17 years old. Come to think of it, she started playing Hermione when she was only 11. Still, one couldn’t help but notice how her looks has matured and is becoming one fine babe - just check out the pictures from her Letterman guesting. She is really cute though. Blonde and beautiful. Plus, she has that European charm - something I really, really like. I hope she does not go through a Lindsey Lohan phase. Click on the picture below for a small compilation at the gallery.

Apparently, they are an item. Yes, I know based on some research that they have been an item as early as December of 2006. But yesterday I saw them in the news, and I think they are going to tie the knot soon. I do not even know if Pops and Martin are legally separated, but those two names will forever be associated.

I know Jomari is old school but not Pops old school. There’s probably at least a 10-year age difference between them. This reminds me of Eula Valdez and her boy groom. MILF lovers; without a doubt, Eula is the hotter MILF. And, unfortunately, I think I’ll enjoy such a relationship.

Introduction

Earlier today on Unang Hirit, I saw this little segment about Angel Locsin taking a one month break from her work. Apparently she had enrolled in a fashion design course in St. Martin’s School of Arts in England, and is set to leave on July 15.

Yes, I was a bit shocked to hear the news bit, after all, this is Angel Locsin, only the biggest star in the Philippines today. Even her alleged reason of having a fallback of a career after showbiz did not make sense. Angel, for us Filipinos is already a Sharon Cuneta. A forever household name. Then, I tried not to mind the rest of the story until someone at the breakfast table mentioned that it was not true. I tried to get the “dirt.”

To benefit all doubts of whoever may read this, I encourage you not to believe. I myself do not have enough proof except for mere faith. I chose to believe what I was told, so when in doubt, let’s just agree to disagree.

Angel will take a break from her work because apparently, she and GMA had a sort of misunderstanding for a future project. She did not accept a future project that was given to her by GMA - something like a Filipino version of “Marimar.” Maybe it was GMA’s way of ironing out the mess, or maybe it was their way of showing who’s boss. Again, I do not expect anyone to believe this.

Claudine Trillo is one classy babe. Not only does she look classy, she really has the moolah to back it up with. Aside from being married to a Webb (Claudine Trillo-Webb) and acquiring a degree from Berkeley College in New York, she owns and self-manages a couple of restaurants and bars. Unfortunately, we don’t get to see much of her.

I know she hosts, or hosted, an ABS-CBN morning news show. I don’t see much of that either, it’s just too early. Luckily, the other day I was switching channels and decided to give our local networks a try. Ah, here’s a hot chick hosting a home TV shopping program. Wait! Is that Claudine Trillo? Yes it is.

Catch Claudine Trillo on ABC 5’s Venta 5 program that is aired Mondays to Saturdays starting at 10 in the morning. She hosts the segment “Kitchen Store” and “Pinovations” along with Heidi Santos (who is also hot by the way). And also, they have a couple of other interesting hosts as well including Patricia Bermudez-Hizon, Karen Agustin (Bb. Pilipinas), Adrienne Sarmiento (musician) and Chal Lontoc (Coke-ko-to fame).

Rufa or Ruffa?

Rufa Mae Quinto is Maxim’s choice for their 1st anniversary issue. I don’t have a copy of the magazine yet, I don’t even know if I’m going to buy one. In my opinion, Maxim is not making much noise these days. They should try to add more controversy or gimmicks. Rumor has it that Wendy Valdez is set to appear as the cover girl in August, now that would be something.

I saw the cover of Maxim’s Rufa issue though, she looks really weird; I would have not noticed her if not for the big “Rufa Mae” upfront. I’ll try to get a copy or look for some scans. If you have them, send them over @ admin@bembangblogs.com.

Probably everyone’s first encounter with Maggie Q was from the movie Naked Weapon. I remember seeing this really cheesy looking movie poster of a very unfamiliar film with two hot chicks on it. It looked like a B-movie, but it was shown on major cinemas. I, on the other hand, just watched it from a lent dvd.

That movie almost had the same effect on me as did So Close - Shu Qi, Zhao Wei. Great Chinese movie, two babes, world-class action sequences, and, eventually, the use of the internet for more information on the Asian babes. At that time I searched for Maggie Q, Mission: Impossible III was already in production and I anxiously waited for her appearance.

A dear friend obsessively insists that Maggie Q looks so much like Kristine Hermosa’s sister - Kathleen. I don’t really remember that much how Kathleen looks like, but, Maggie can indeed pass as a Filipina or at least someone with Filipino blood; she has none. In fact, the only Asian blood she has is from her Vietnamese mother. The rest comes from a mixture of Polish, Irish and French. Her Asian looks led her to gain popularity in Hong Kong.

In Die Hard 4.0 she plays a villain. I’ll leave it at that. The movie is alright, but then again, we’ve been spoiled with a spew of great movies for the past couple of months (Spiderman 3, Transformers), so our expectations might still be at a high level. She’s in there for action and I can safely say that I was not at all disappointed at her fight scenes. Acting wise - I don’t really notice when it’s a hot babe.

I love Maggie Q. By the way, Q stands for “Quigley.” I did not stress how much I like her (looks) in this post but she is definitely in my top list. She used to serve as a conversation piece - “Kilala mo si Maggie Q?” to find out people with similar taste in babes. Now, she’s on to superstardom, and more people worldwide will adore her. She deserves it, or rather, we deserve her (adore such a fine creature).

Cristine Reyes, better known as Ara Mina’s younger sister, was featured in Chika Minute (GMA 7) a couple of days ago for a feature story about her affirmation to pose for a yet-unknown magazine. When asked which magazine, she said “Abangan niyo nalang kung anong magazine, surprise nalang.” Then, continued on to share that she is already following a strict diet, is exercising regularly, and has even enrolled in belly dancing. She admits that the decision was not easy and is now very nervous on what’s in store for her. The pictorial is already scheduled this July.

GMA is almost always linked with FHM. I had no doubts that it was FHM she was going to appear in. Then, after a little search here and there, I found this article, from GMA as well, entitled Cristine Reyes says yes to FHM.

10 - Iwa Moto

Could have easily been my number one. But I guess she still needs to attain a certain level of nationwide popularity before she can be number one - like a hit sexy movie, a calendar or more good or even bad publicity.

9 - Anne Curtis

Pretty low considering considering the next babe after her in the list - Jennylyn Mercado. Anne has morphed from sweetheart to sex icon smoothly. She might not do sexy films but she has a sexy reputation. Including tons of beach pictures and that semi-scandal with Richard Gutierrez. Either love her or hate her, which is probably why she got number nine only.

8 - Jennylyn Mercado

I don’t understand why Jennylyn Mercado made it this high. She’s a sweetheart and not a sexy babe. She has not even appeared in any sexy pictorials. In fact, FHM does not have a single picture of her, her picture in the magazine is “borrowed.” Her high position speaks of her tons of supporters, which I guess is a feat on it’s own. I’ve met Jennylyn in an interview. I blogged about my Jennylyn Mercado experience in my personal blog.

7 - Diana Zubiri

We’ll probably see Diana Zubiri in the top ten for a couple more years. She might have “cooled” down in the Philippines but she’s an Asian phenomenon. She’s very well exposed and her fans are loyal.

6 - Bianca King

Oh, Bianca King. Here’s one babe that needs no sexy pictorials to be sexy. Her look and overall aura defines sexy. I also blogged a little about Bianca King in my personal blog.

5 - Ehra Madrigal

Probably a lot of people (just like me) owe it to FHM that they are aware of Ehra. She just sprung from nowhere and her first major exposure is as a sexy babe. Therefore, people will always see her as that (sexy). I like her look very much as well. I have the same sentiments for Ehra as with Iwa Moto.

4 - Angelica Panganiban

I can’t help but remember her before and after pictures from her Ginebra calendar pictorial. Whoever leaked that must alreay be in Angelica’s most wanted list. Imagine her trying to change her image from child star to mature only to be ruined by a couple of photos. But, I owe it to Angelica that I now know of Maria Ozawa. The resemblance is uncanny, therefore when I want to think of a sexy Angelica, I just go watch some Maria Ozawa.

3 - Angel Locsin

I remember a virtually unknown Angel appearing in the October 2003 cover of FHM. Kind of like what Ehra Madrigal did. Now, she’s almost like a Sharon Cuneta (fame-wise). The thing is, her FHM pictorials do not even bare much skin. She has appeared twice in the cover of FHM Philippines but still little skin exposed. She’s just a nationwide phenomenon; it’s admirable how she created a sexy image in a very tasteful, respectable manner.

Philippines’ sexiest - Katrina Halili

Sexy in an I-want-to-sex-you-up kind of way. Back-to-back sexiest in the Philippines. Almost like a Katrina Halili era. See previous post for more on Katrina Halili.

Global winner - Jessica Alba

I don’t know how this works, it seems as they compile the local votes (for each country) then add the global winner in the end. Well, Jessica Alba is Jessica Alba. To be voted by the world is something. Also see previous post entitled “Find me someone who thinks Jessica Alba is not hot.”

FHM Philippines 100 Sexiest Women

Part of buying the Joyce Jimenez issue is the supplementary magazine that lists the 100 Sexiest Women in the World that were voted in by the Philippines. Now, I’m not that sure as to how the whole sexiest rankings work but I’m pretty sure there’s sms and voting involved. This year’s top one - Katrina Halili. Last year’s top one - Katrina Halili.

Not that I don’t agree, hey, Katrina Halili is one sexy babe, it’s just that a few factors might have helped her become the sexiest for two straight years. One is that FHM might not have produced a cover girl last year that was as shocking and and infectious as when they did Katrina Halili in December 2005. Plus, they immortalized her in a calendar - much like Assunta de Rossi.

I’m still waiting for the day that I’ll see Katrina in person. Pictures are pictures; once, I remember seeing a television interview of her that showed her real skin (face) texture. It was not a sight to behold. Probably much has changed now, especially with all the pampering and vip treatment she gets. One thing I know though, her look is the median of all Filipino tastes in women - it’s tough to find someone (Filipino) who would not say “Pwede!” to her.
