Ruffa Gutierrez makes big donations to local charities yearly. The donations come from various events, like bazaars, fashion shows, etc. This year she’s giving out P1.7 million, which was pooled from RRRampa for a Cause, a bazaar slash fashion show which she, her brothers Raymond and Richard, and a bunch of celebrity friends organized last September 16, 2007.

Last year they made P1 million and gave to UNICEF and the Philippine Red Cross. This year, they divided the funds even more and gave P200,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, P700,000 to World Vision, P500,000 to UNICEF, and P100,000 to Asilo de Milagrosa in Cebu. You know, Ruffa could give away that much from her own pocket and it still wouldn’t sweat her.

Niña Jose, from Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Season 1, is about to become a household name once again. Or so we think. After Pinoy Big Brother, she was signed as a talent of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic. Making the cast of Pedro Penduko, alongside fellow-housemate Matt Evans, was probably her biggest stint with Star Magic. Her contract expired last July 2007. It is said that she chose not to renew her contract because of her studies - De La Salle University Manila, European Studies.

Last December, Niña signed with Manny Valera’s DMV Entertainment - the agency behind Polo Ravales, Jean Garcia, Alessandra de Rossi, Jay Manalo, Zoren Legaspi, and Glaiza de Castro among others. She is now taking up dance and acting lessong at DMV Studios. Hope to see more of Niña soon.

The other day we passed by a huge Gaby dela Merced billboard, when my friend uttered something about her being in Pinoy Big Brother. Yeah, I don’t watch any of that. But what’s more interesting was how he raved about this other chick “housemate,” whose name at that time seemed to have escaped his wandering mind. He was referring to this babe as uberly pretty, and was comparing her to a Hollywood celebrity from a movie where he also forgot the title. Unknown babe, who looks like a celebrity from an unknown movie. The conversation went nowhere.

Back to present time. I obviously did my research and landed two possible conclusions: Megan Young or Riza Santos. But, since we already have a short Riza Santos feature here, I’ll go ahead and assume that he was referring to Megan Young.

Megan came from Starstruck. She is now a “kapamilya.” Unfortunately, she was already evicted even before I had the chance to spot her in an episode. Oh, well. But, she has definitely matured and is now looking more beautiful than ever. Check out some of the pictures I snagged all over the internet.

Dr. Allison Cameron

She’s that hot doctor, the one that sleeps with Dr. Robert Chase, or “Chase,” from the series House M.D. Truth be told, probably 40% of the reason I watch House is for Jennifer Morrison. A recent re-run of the movie Urban Legends: Final Cut made me do this post. Anyway, she’s a 28-year old actress who also appeared in the movies Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Stir of Echoes, and Miracle on 34th Street, among others. She is also set to play Winona Kirk on an upcoming Star Trek film to be released this 2008. She did a really hot photo-shoot with Stuff Magazine last year, click on the photo below to view more.

Here it is. The calendar came free with the January 2008 issue, and features up and coming beauties from old FHM features. Below is a list of the babes for each month with a link to the gallery showing each one’s spread. The cover of course, is no other than the beautiful, Arra Castro.

Arra Castro. The calendar can almost be considered an Arra Castro Calendar, she has photos for 6 of the 12 months. Arra Castro is the 2007 FHM Girl Next Door winner. She is one beautiful, sweet-looking broad. She also appeared in an iced tea commercial. I’m just not sure which one.

February

Cherry Kubota. Cherry is the 1st runner-up of the 2007 Mossimo Bikini Summit. She was also featured in FHM’s August 2007 issue.

April

Gail Nicolas. Gail is a 24-year-old model who was featured in FHM’s May 2007 issue. She also appeared in a couple of Jolibee commercials.

June

Paloma. She was featured on FHM’s September 2007 issue. I don’t know where she got her cool name. Pepsi Paloma perhaps?

August

Ann-kris. Ann-kris Soriano, from September 2007. A semi-Japanese looking, seductive looking import from the U.S.

October

Raine Larrazabal. Maureen’s younger, but equally attractive, sexy, sister. She was on the cover of Maxim’s November 2007 issue.

December

Alex & Daphni. Daphni was featured last December, and came from Israel. I can’t seem to find any information on Alex (such a common name). Anyone? I don’t know either why they share a month.

Pregnant Jennylyn Mercado’s first men’s magazine feature is finally here. Big month for Jennylyn. I wonder how the announcement of her pregnancy will affect the sales of FHM’s January issue. Honestly, I think it would help since people can now drop the goody-two-shoes image of Jennylyn.

The issue comes with a free FHM 2008 Calendar so it sells for Php 150. Still, this installment is worthy of a “good 2008 start” for FHM. By the way, more of the 2008 calendar in a later post. Just 5 pages in and you’ll get a full-page Iwa Moto ad spread for Ginebra San Miguel. Sexy, indeed! Aside from Jennylyn, we also have features of comedienne Jacq Yu, Tara Reid, Pinoy Metal female vocalists, Rivermaya, Neil Gaiman, Vans Baisa, and 2005 Girlfriend of the Year Joahnie Sylene. 152 pages worth.

Her shoot, as expected, is a tad too short of “revealing.” I guess, if you’d take that long to decide whether you’d want to be featured in FHM means you have a strong conservative side. This shoot reminds me of Angel Locsin type shoots. Those “just for the sake of calling her a covergirl” type pictorials. Still, I enjoyed every photo, as I myself am a big Jennylyn Mercado fan. I was able to interview her some 2 years ago, seeing her upclose is a unreal. Many might not agree, so let’s just say, “that’s just me.”

Jennylyn Mercado, Starstruck Season 1 Ultimate Survivor, FHM January 2008 covergirl, is indeed pregnant, carrying the child of Patrick Garcia. At this time she is already two months pregnant. The couple also expressed plans of getting married but held it off for a number of reasons. Garcia said that he and Jennylyn had already gone to the Makati City Hall to consult with a judge for the possibility of a civil wedding. He added that he wanted to do the right things for his girl and will support her and their baby. Another reason is that Patrick’s sister, Cheska, is also scheduled to get married this year.

The couple said that they did not have intentions of hiding the pregnancy to the public, adding that what mattered most to them is that they love each other.

Oh, Jennylyn. Off the market too soon. I wonder what Mark Herras did to you. And bad timing huh? Just when your first mature pictorial is just about to be released. I guess then that you are not that conservative… Oh, well.
