From The Amazing Race Asia Season 3

Whew, What a long name, and, researching for pictures is harder than I thought. I guess she’s not that well-known as her partner, Natalie. I even tried looking at some Thailand-blogs. Nada. So, anyone out there who can lead me to some good Pailin photos other than those already in AXN’s site, and these two, just comment here or upload some in the gallery.

Anyway, 25-year-old Pailin, from team-beauty queen, was the first runner-up in her country’s 2006 search for Miss Thailand Universe. This eventually led her to represent Thailand in the 2006 Miss Earth, held here in the Philippines. Basing from credentials alone, I guess we now know who to focus our attentions to.

September 26, 2008 update

Unfortunately, beauty queens, Pailin and Natalie were eliminated from the race yesterday. Their run lasted only three episodes. From their stint, it seemed like Natalie was more the high-maintenance “beauty queen” type. Pailin was actually kind of cool and “game” during the race, and was not overshadowed (as I thought would be the case) by Natalie’s Miss Universe-winning beauty.

The Amazing Race Asia Season 3 is on! Sorry, but that thrilling last season was enough to fanaticize me. Of course, as this is blog is about babes, we’ll take a couple of posts worth to get to know this season’s lookers - before they even get eliminated. Remember last year’s Paula Taylor and Vanessa Chong? Hotness.

This year, they brought it up a notch. Actually, they brought it up to probably the highest notch - an actual Miss Universe winner. Yup, Natalie Glebova, representing Thailand, was Miss Universe in 2005. She’s representing Thailand because she is now based there - which was also where the pageant was held, and, she married a native - that professional tennis player who appears in some majors. But, she represented Canada in that pageant, even though she was born slash and-is-of Russian descent.

Did I mention that Natalie is partnered with another beauty queen? Thai Pailin Rungratanasunthorn, who we’ll probably feature tomorrow. The Amazing Race Asia Season 3 (TARA 3) was actually held last July but they do keep a good job of maintaining secrecy. The season will end sometime in January next year, so let’s hope these girls had a good run. TARA 3 airs Thursdays on AXN. Click below for some “researched” photos.

Miss Venezuela

Meet the universe’s new muse, Dayana Mendoza from Venezuela. Another one from that part of the globe - now part of my to-visit list. Anyway, here’s the low-down on Dayana in one sentence: Mendoza, 22, is a 5-foot, 10-inch, green-eyed beauty who enjoys learning languages and photography, and dreams of becoming an Interior Designer. And, I just have to add that she was once kidnapped in her homeland.

From the television series, Chuck

Here you go, post number two - something for the under-appreciated “Babes” category. It’s been a while, so I deem this really special. People, do yourselves a favor and watch Chuck. It’s something for the very common man slash borderline geek. You know, regular college dropout suddenly becomes the world’s most important espionage asset and gets the gorgeous spy assistant. Go watch it. Yvonne is from Australia, if there’s more of her down there then that’s the direction I want to go. Talk about Yvonne Strahovski in the forum.

Julia Fordham, British pop-jazz sensation, is doing a series of concerts in Manila and Cebu this February. I’m not sure if you would agree about her being in our bebot blog, but she sure has a soft spot for us Filipinos. Her hits include Love Moves In Mysterious Ways, Invisible War, Happy Ever After among others. She even released a special Philippines only album entitled “Songbook.” These are Ayala Malls concerts so it’s free. Click here for concert dates and times.

Kirsten Dunst fans, here’s one more reason to like her. Kirsten is now also a director. She has an entry in the Sundance Film Festival, the yearly independent cinema festival, also penetrated by a number of Filipino-directed films. Her entry, a short film, is entitled Welcome, and is about a girl being frightened by a ghost in their house. The cast is led by actress, and major-babe, Winona Ryder. Trevor Groth, senior programmer at Sundance, said Dunst’s movie showed great skill at being able to maintain tension by using interesting shots and angles, among other elements.

Dr. Allison Cameron

She’s that hot doctor, the one that sleeps with Dr. Robert Chase, or “Chase,” from the series House M.D. Truth be told, probably 40% of the reason I watch House is for Jennifer Morrison. A recent re-run of the movie Urban Legends: Final Cut made me do this post. Anyway, she’s a 28-year old actress who also appeared in the movies Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Stir of Echoes, and Miracle on 34th Street, among others. She is also set to play Winona Kirk on an upcoming Star Trek film to be released this 2008. She did a really hot photo-shoot with Stuff Magazine last year, click on the photo below to view more.

Ahoo! Ahoo!

Thanks to the recent explosion of 300’s Ilongo version, plus it’s release in DVD, I found myself once again watching this soon-to-be one of my all time favorite lakas movies. And, to benefit this babe blog, I researched some information and pictures on Queen Gorgo. Queen Gorgo is played by Lena Headey, a British actress whose most substantial appearance prior to 300 is probably from the movie The Brothers Grimm. Lena is obviously the main babe in 300, after all, she is the lead, and the only other babe I can think of in the movie is that weird-looking and dancing Oracle.

Lena Headey was born in October 3, 1973, which makes her 33 years old when 300 was shown. She has her own TV series entitled The Sarah Connor Chronicles, although I don’t think it is shown in any of our cable channels. She has a tattoo written in Thai that reads “Jason,” for actor Jason Flemyng, best known as Dr. Jekyll in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I just saw this over at E! channel. Interview is the latest movie of Sienna Miller, it is written, directed, and also stars Steve Buscemi. I don’t know when or if it will ever be shown here in the Philippines but I love Sienna Miller, so nothing can stop this post.

Sienna Miller is a 25-year-old American-born English actress. I’ve been trying to remember how I first heard about Sienna Miller and looking at her IMDB entry, her most popular movie to date is Casanova. I have not watched that. She must be one of those actresses I’ve seen in a movie that I just chanced upon while channel surfing. Or, one of those guests at some talk show. But still, her name rings so much in me and I’ve always considered her in my top list. Must be that European charm.

I’ll stop talking now and leave you with some high-quality pictures. Oh, let me just add that she has been linked with Jude Law (engaged), Daniel Craig, and was seen entering a hotel with Sean Combs. Lyndsay Lohan is an imbecile. She’s everything that’s wrong in this world. Yet, even this blog and a billion other media outlets have her in their front pages. She’s a brand, a household name, and, to indirectly quote John Lennon, “She’s more popular than Jesus.”

Let me rephrase my second opening sentence. “We are everything wrong with the world to even give a damn about Lyndsay.” If she has all but a tiny bit of intelligence in her small head, she’s most probably controlling us like puppets. But, her genius ended when she chose to get busted again less than a week after going out of rehab. Wrong move; too much, too soon. I say jail and rape the bitch.

To end this hate post, I’ll quote a comment that made the most sense in a past babe post in my personal blog. “I just want to f*ck her that’s all.” Go Hilary Duff!
