Bebot, Bebot!

Julia Fordham, British pop-jazz sensation, is doing a series of concerts in Manila and Cebu this February. I’m not sure if you would agree about her being in our bebot blog, but she sure has a soft spot for us Filipinos. Her hits include Love Moves In Mysterious Ways, Invisible War, Happy Ever After among others. She even released a special Philippines only album entitled “Songbook.” These are Ayala Malls concerts so it’s free. Click here for concert dates and times.

Kirsten Dunst fans, here’s one more reason to like her. Kirsten is now also a director. She has an entry in the Sundance Film Festival, the yearly independent cinema festival, also penetrated by a number of Filipino-directed films. Her entry, a short film, is entitled Welcome, and is about a girl being frightened by a ghost in their house. The cast is led by actress, and major-babe, Winona Ryder. Trevor Groth, senior programmer at Sundance, said Dunst’s movie showed great skill at being able to maintain tension by using interesting shots and angles, among other elements.

Dr. Allison Cameron

She’s that hot doctor, the one that sleeps with Dr. Robert Chase, or “Chase,” from the series House M.D. Truth be told, probably 40% of the reason I watch House is for Jennifer Morrison. A recent re-run of the movie Urban Legends: Final Cut made me do this post. Anyway, she’s a 28-year old actress who also appeared in the movies Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Stir of Echoes, and Miracle on 34th Street, among others. Thanks to the recent explosion of 300’s Ilongo version, plus it’s release in DVD, I found myself once again watching this soon-to-be one of my all time favorite lakas movies. And, to benefit this babe blog, I researched some information and pictures on Queen Gorgo. Queen Gorgo is played by Lena Headey, a British actress whose most substantial appearance prior to 300 is probably from the movie The Brothers Grimm. Lena is obviously the main babe in 300, after all, she is the lead, and the only other babe I can think of in the movie is that weird-looking and dancing Oracle.

Lena Headey was born in October 3, 1973, which makes her 33 years old when 300 was shown. She has her own TV series entitled The Sarah Connor Chronicles, although I don’t think it is shown in any of our cable channels. She has a tattoo written in Thai that reads “Jason,” for actor Jason Flemyng, best known as Dr. Jekyll in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. I just saw this over at E! channel. Interview is the latest movie of Sienna Miller, it is written, directed, and also stars Steve Buscemi. I don’t know when or if it will ever be shown here in the Philippines but I love Sienna Miller, so nothing can stop this post.

Sienna Miller is a 25-year-old American-born English actress. I’ve been trying to remember how I first heard about Sienna Miller and looking at her IMDB entry, her most popular movie to date is Casanova. I have not watched that. She must be one of those actresses I’ve seen in a movie that I just chanced upon while channel surfing. Or, one of those guests at some talk show. But still, her name rings so much in me and I’ve always considered her in my top list. Must be that European charm.

I’ll stop talking now and leave you with some high-quality pictures. Oh, let me just add that she has been linked with Jude Law (engaged), Daniel Craig, and was seen entering a hotel with Sean Combs. Lyndsay Lohan is an imbecile. She’s everything that’s wrong in this world. Yet, even this blog and a billion other media outlets have her in their front pages. She’s a brand, a household name, and, to indirectly quote John Lennon, “She’s more popular than Jesus.”

Let me rephrase my second opening sentence. “We are everything wrong with the world to even give a damn about Lyndsay.” If she has all but a tiny bit of intelligence in her small head, she’s most probably controlling us like puppets. But, her genius ended when she chose to get busted again less than a week after going out of rehab. Wrong move; too much, too soon. I say jail and rape the bitch.

To end this hate post, I’ll quote a comment that made the most sense in a past babe post in my personal blog. “I just want to f*ck her that’s all.” Go Hilary Duff!

Welcome to the I heart series

Where every month, I will take some time and think of women, with the sole purpose of pleasing no one but myself. Consider this my top list, my “to-die-for” list, my cream of the crop. And, if you readers can relate, then let’s make this interactive by posting comments.

Technically, I did my first I heart post in my personal blog. I heart Maria Ozawa. Let’s consider her as my number one, for until now, I can think of no one else who can top my Maria Ozawa longing.

My choice for the first I heart post here at Bebot, Bebot! is not necessarily my number two, it is only because at present time, I am experiencing this deep fanaticism for someone I consider a complete package - Tina Fey.

Why Tina Fey?

Tina Fey is beautiful, cute, funny and smart. For me, that’s what makes her sexy. And to add to that, she is actually physically sexy! Just not exploited in sexy pictorials and roles. But does she really need those to gain popularity? No. She relies on talent, writing, imagination, humor and acting.

For the clueless, Tina Fey is best known for her stint at Saturday Night Live (SNL). Most notable would be her role in SNL as one of the lead anchors in Weekend Update (with Amy Poehler). She also wrote and made an appearance in the movie Mean Girls. Today, she is no longer in SNL; she already has her own show - 30 Rock. Take note, she created 30 Rock as well. It’s her show, she stars in it, and it is hilarious. I see 30 Rock almost daily, it is shown in Star World, and a couple of other cable channels.

FYI

Did you know that Tina Fey has a face-long scar along her left cheek? They just somehow conceal it in television. Come to think of it, I’ll research some more on this one and create a separate post; it might give this blog some Google love.

Probably the one with the most potential also happens to be one of the leads - Emma Watson. So let’s save the best for last.

Cho Chang played by Katie Leung

Katie is Harry Potter’s love interest. How about that kissing scene? After watching Order of the Phoenix, me and a couple of my friends couldn’t help but talk about the poor casting choice for Cho. After all, she is the star’s sweetheart. She kind of looks like a Filipina, but she’s not. I guess all I’m saying is they could’ve considered a little more eye candy to play Cho’s part. Ginny is Ron Weasley’s younger sister. Not to make this post more underage as it is (she is only 16), but the reason I took notice of Ginny was because after Hermione, there was no longer anyone worth looking at. Luna Lovegood played by Evanna Lynch

There goes that weird character Luna Lovegood we’ve all been waiting for (first appearance). She looks alright, especially for her part (good casting). Plus, she did a good job at it as well. Here’s another gallery to check out.

Hermione Granger played by Emma Watson

The inspiration of this post, Emma Watson, is now only 17 years old. Come to think of it, she started playing Hermione when she was only 11. Still, one couldn’t help but notice how her looks has matured and is becoming one fine babe - just check out the pictures from her Letterman guesting. She is really cute though. Blonde and beautiful. Probably everyone’s first encounter with Maggie Q was from the movie Naked Weapon. I remember seeing this really cheesy looking movie poster of a very unfamiliar film with two hot chicks on it. It looked like a B-movie, but it was shown on major cinemas. I, on the other hand, just watched it from a lent dvd.

That movie almost had the same effect on me as did So Close - Shu Qi, Zhao Wei. Great Chinese movie, two babes, world-class action sequences, and, eventually, the use of the internet for more information on the Asian babes. At that time I searched for Maggie Q, Mission: Impossible III was already in production and I anxiously waited for her appearance.

A dear friend obsessively insists that Maggie Q looks so much like Kristine Hermosa’s sister - Kathleen. I don’t really remember that much how Kathleen looks like, but, Maggie can indeed pass as a Filipina or at least someone with Filipino blood; she has none. In fact, the only Asian blood she has is from her Vietnamese mother. The rest comes from a mixture of Polish, Irish and French. Her Asian looks led her to gain popularity in Hong Kong.

In Die Hard 4.0 she plays a villain. I’ll leave it at that. The movie is alright, but then again, we’ve been spoiled with a spew of great movies for the past couple of months (Spiderman 3, Transformers), so our expectations might still be at a high level. She’s in there for action and I can safely say that I was not at all disappointed at her fight scenes. Acting wise - I don’t really notice when it’s a hot babe.

I love Maggie Q. By the way, Q stands for “Quigley.” I did not stress how much I like her (looks) in this post but she is definitely in my top list. She used to serve as a conversation piece - “Kilala mo si Maggie Q?” to find out people with similar taste in babes. Now, she’s on to superstardom, and more people worldwide will adore her. She deserves it, or rather, we deserve her (adore such a fine creature).

Manila, Philippines

Come on over, come on over baby. Christina Aguilera is set to perform on July 6, for her Christina Aguilera Back to Basics Tour: Live in Taguig concert. The stage is set at The Fort Open Field in Bonifacio Global City, and is slated to be one of the biggest productions to be staged in the country in years. She brought along an entourage of 88 people and 20 truckloads of stage equipment. The concert is organized by MTV Philippines and Globe.

Pretty big event. I’ll probably not watch. Unless I have money to burn with less important things to spend on on that day. I don’t know the ticket prices as well, gave up looking for it at the MTV Philippines site. Maybe you’ll have better luck.
